Connective Tissue Therapy is a “deep” form of massage, sometimes called Deep Tissue Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, or Connective Tissue Massage. It targets the fascia (connective tissue) in the body in order to relax chronically tight muscles, improve range of motion, soften scar tissue, and improve posture by improving the length, strength, and overall condition of the fascia.
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork with its roots in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is believed to improve a client’s health, not just physically, but also spiritually and emotionally. At ASIS Massage Education you will learn about Shiatsu in both theory and practice.
One of the modalities you will study at ASIS Massage Education is kinesiology, the study of human movement, which is closely related to two other scientific disciplines, anatomy and physiology.
