This class teaches a deeper understanding of the head and neck. There is an emphasis on reviewing pertinent muscles, anatomy, and structures to better understand the dysfunctions. Students will learn indications and contraindications for using massage techniques to treat conditions of the head and cervical spine such as TMJ disorder and whiplash. Lots of hands-on demonstration and practice of neuromuscular and Myofascial techniques for soft tissue injury and recovery of the head and neck.
Instructor Bio: A Licensed massage therapist and instructor since 1993, Mario has worked with an array of clientele encountering many true to life situations. It is many of these antidotes that Mario shares with class participants to balance and validate the theoretical terms and concepts. Humor, class participation and inspiration are important components of classes taught by Mario. As a Massage Therapist, Mario worked with the University of Iowa college athletes.
