Yoga for Grief Flagstaff-September 2024

We will begin with a psychoeducational presentation that explores types of grief and what to look
out for when grief may become clinical (Handouts are included in class fee.)
We will continue with gentle and restorative poses that allow participants to slow down and connect
to themselves physically and emotionally. Yoga sequence handouts are included to continue the
yoga practice in your own time. 
Bring a yoga mat.

Note: For Board Certified LMTs through NCBTMB this counts for the maximum allowance of self-care. (4CE) There are NO limits, however, for self-care CEs with the Arizona Massage Board.

 

Gloria C. Mathiesen, MA, LPC, LMT graduated in 1997 from Irene Gauthier’s Myomassology Institute located in her home state of Michigan. She has been providing therapeutic massage services ever since. She is also a licensed professional counselor specializing in trauma for the states of Arizona and Ohio. She’s been an approved provider of continuing education for NCBTMB since 2010. Gloria has been providing continuing education for multiple states, coast to coast, along with reaching international students virtually via Zoom. Her passion focuses her development on bridging the mind and body with unique courses and public workshops addressing topics such as PTSD, eating disorders, addiction, chronic pain, and trauma.  Lastly, she is also a certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance and offers trauma-informed yoga classes, workshops, and trainings for the general public as well as continuing education for yoga instructors and massage therapists.

    Presented by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies - This course will assist therapists in developing treatment sequences and protocols specific to post surgery of Liposuction, Breast Surgeries, Tummy Tucks, and Brazilian Butt Lifts. This will include and discuss the techniques, contraindications, risk factors, and protocols related to these surgeries.
