Acupressure's Potent Points for Common Complaints

This class is a powerful introduction to the use of Acupressure in massage therapy where you will learn 35 potent Acupressure points. You will learn each point's functions (physical, emotional, and spiritual functions), location, and how to use it in combination with other points to address your clients’ needs. You will learn techniques for point activation and develop the sensitivity in your hands to balance Chi using these points. Throughout the course, you will practice locating points on yourself and others, and learn and practice sequences of Acupressure points for various conditions.

At the conclusion of class, Students will demonstrate the ability to use varied Acupressure techniques to stimulate points, including silver dollar polishing (from T’ui Na), finger pressure (from Shiatsu), and Jin Shin Acupressure

  • Students will demonstrate proficiency in point location.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to integrate Acupressure into bodywork, using the Acupressure sequences learned in class.
  • Students will be able to list 4-6 points useful in addressing each of the following complaints: shoulder-neck tension, low back pain or sciatica, anxiety, depression, headache, fatigue, and low immunity.
