This class is a powerful introduction to the use of Acupressure in massage therapy where you will learn 35 potent Acupressure points. You will learn each point's functions (physical, emotional, and spiritual functions), location, and how to use it in combination with other points to address your clients’ needs. You will learn techniques for point activation and develop the sensitivity in your hands to balance Chi using these points. Throughout the course, you will practice locating points on yourself and others, and learn and practice sequences of Acupressure points for various conditions.
At the conclusion of class, Students will demonstrate the ability to use varied Acupressure techniques to stimulate points, including silver dollar polishing (from T’ui Na), finger pressure (from Shiatsu), and Jin Shin Acupressure

About the Instructor:
Raizelah Bayen was first certified in Integrative Massage in 1991 and continued education with Eastern Massage and Acupressure, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Chinese and Western Herbology, Aroma Acupoint Therapy, and Yoga instruction. her work combines hands-on Meridian Massage and Aroma Acupressure, with home care regimes that include essential oils, herbs, and yoga poses or stretches to address client complaints. She first started teaching massage in 1998, at Twin Lakes School of the Healing Arts in Santa Cruz and followed that with 15 years as a core instructor at the Sebastopol Massage School, and 10 years as the Training Director at Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary, both located in Sonoma County, California. In 2020, Raizelah opened a continuing education massage school, Open Pathways Institute for Integrative Massage. Her passion is to support Massage Therapists’ transition into integrative health care, weaving tools from Chinese Medicine into bodywork. Raizelah’s classes always include:

We will review joint movements, muscle attachments and movements and strategies to palpate these muscles efficiently.
