SUMMARY:Immersion into ETHICS
DESCRIPTION:A immersion into ETHICS for the massage therapist will speak to the many questions therapists have once in the workplace; exploring roles/boundaries\, professionalism\, confidentiality\, business practices\, and more including somatic and mindful exercises As massage therapists\, our clients come to us to receive care and comfort\, many times from a place of vulnerability. How we express ourselves through our words and actions can convey sincerity and compassion\, or may challenge our own abilities to remain calm and attentive. Bringing mindfulness to each situation helps to create healthy boundaries and professionalism to our practice. As we explore ethics\, so we explore ourselves. An understanding of the foundation of ethics for your massage practice will help your practice from the ground up\, with the recognition that our own continued growth and transformation will help us to attain not only our potential as massage therapists\, but also as human beings. Instructor Rose Adams. Rose’s early massage study was with the Pacific School of Massage and Healing Arts and is currently a teacher at the ASIS Flagstaff school. For nearly 30 years\, Rose’s work with massage therapy has included private practice\, collaboration with community healthcare providers\, and most recently providing therapeutic massage to many people with compromised health while doing hospital based massage therapy at Flagstaff Medical Center for nine years. Rose uses her experience and education to act as a bridge between traditional and alternative healthcare.
